OUT OF THE BLUE August 2023, Nordhavn
Sandra wants to take you on a journey - a guided tour of Nordhavn, its waterfront architecture, stunning views, and luxurious amenities. But her story of the harbour is not the only one - there are many others waiting to be told. Will the tour go smoothly, or will an invisible force intervene?
“Out of The Blue” celebrated the changing landscape of Nordhavn and the complex relationships between Copenhagen's people and their harbour, inspired by real experiences of over fifty local residents.
It was an immersive, participatory, and site-specific theatre experience where the actors guided audiences through a walking tour of Nordhavn - a harbor district in Copenhagen experiencing an unprecedented rate of change. Even the most unassuming locations in the city can be transformed into performance stages. Together, we discovered hidden treasures, talkative seagulls, sun-kissed mermaids, and unforgettable memories from the harbour.
“Out of Blue” was performed by a cast of both hearing and deaf actors. Two of our shows were fully interpreted into international sign, expanding our ability to offer this story and experience to a wider audience.
